Feedback Evaluation 4- what was learnt from the audience feedback?

After finishing our music video, as a group it was essential to get some type of feedback from teenagers like ourselves to see whether we'd met codes and conventions of what an actual grime music video entails. Additionally, getting feedback meant that we understood what we had done well but what we also needed to do in order to make it better. What we were mainly looking for from the feedback was to see whether they were able to relate to the song as young teenagers.

From the feedback, i feel that we understood that we reached our target audience. They all seem to understand that the song and video were aimed at young people. This was made clear through the illegal actions and problems the protagonist had been going through. The fact that he was denoted smoking weed was pointed out by Gaius through the feedback video as a way to show typical teenage behaviour. Furthermore,, one of the members from the feedback video was able to understand that our exact target group were young teenagers, they leaned slightly towards blacks mainly based on the fact that the artist they visualised in the play was a young black teenager. I would say that we reached our target audience successfully, as the feedback showed that young teenagers are attracted to songs like this.
The implementation of flashy cars and play fights with the artist's sister were just examples on how we were able to keep the audience engaged. As teenagers it's somewhat easy understanding what is needed to keep a fellow teenager entertained.and i feel that the cars were a good touch as it provided a drive and an aim as to what success looks like if  you're willing to work hard for it. The play fighting would also be appealing, as young teenagers tend to play a lot and also tend to fight a lot, so we felt that this was something that could work well together. Similarly, the fact that it was being done with his sister emphasised the fact that it was appealing to the target audience based on the fact that teenagers normally argue with their siblings.
"A relation was made by me having experiencing one or two aspects" this is a quote from the feedback and from this i can infer that the lyrics and visuals could be related to by the teenagers as they understood what what the artist was going through. It showed that we had managed to show the issues well but more crucially it was realistic and eye opening for our viewers. Another quote read as such "i think that i could personally identify with most the scenes, like him play fighting with his sister and hanging out with his mates", this is another example of how scenes in the song were relatable to the audience. The quotation depicts the fact that they're numerous teenagers that could play around with their sisters but also remain distant from them at the same time, which could both be seen in the video, firstly , with the pillow fighting it shows sibling bonding and enjoyment between brother and sister and at a time where his mum was absent he still managed to find realistic happiness with his sister. Whereas the other scenes show him to be isolated from her all together based on the fact that they hadn't been close at that moment in time, which in turn is something that is natural among siblings.
Overall, from the feedback we found that the fast paced editing and repetitive change in scenes worked well, as it was a way to keep the audience engaged in the video. This helped the music video greatly, as it meant that there was never a momentary lapse from any of the audience members. Furthermore, the story line was also talked about as been effective from the feedback, as we were able to infer that although we done a narrative we were able to maintain the fact that it was our video was grime, but i felt that this also complimented the addition of the story line as it meant the audience remained curious on what happened next.
In conclusion, some of the criticms from the feedback suggested that we had more shots of the brother and sister going out together to demonstrate how close they really were, as the pillow fighting only showed them briefly but in order to expand on their close relationship it was vital that we were able to implement scenes in which they showed their sibling love. Furthermore, a running them was also a suggestion of the artist for example in the studio to update the audience oh his hardwork and also the fact that there was less proportion of happy scenes inadvertently meant the song came across as slightly more depressing.
