digipak analysis 3

This immediate eye catcher to this digipak are the colours. The combination of black and yellow portrays the originality of the product. Black is a colour normally associated with white or by itself as it comes across as a really powerful, evil and strong colour. The versatility of the colour ideally means that it could be paired with any other colour but yet come across as something effective. The black on this digpak shows the crucial information that is needed, the fact that it's black and white writing shows those are the main important factors of the digipak. In addition, black and white writing reinstates the formality, it's cleverly used here to alert the buyers information needed would be a simplistic writing as it becomes easier to find.

The front cover of this digipak shows roses. The yellow and black writing are imminent again to show those are the recurring colours in the album. The light glow of lighting at the front is there to captivate and draw in the audience to the product. The combination of old-fashioned and modern connote the contextually of groups music as they combine new with the old to demonstrate the style of what the audiences are getting into.

DIGIPAK ANALYSIS

This is and example of the layout and design of a normal digipak. The main characteristics remain there to show that is a digipak. For example, we have and example of a barcode, a barcode is merely there to identify the price of the product. Although it may not seem as significant as some of the other products, nothing takes place until there is assurance that the product is valid. Amongst other things the most significant factor is personal identification within a digipak, this straight away alerts the audience  to the product they're buying. Furthermore, this would usually be found at the front the digipack.

The fact that an image is on the front meanw its there to show recognition of the people selling the product.
The red on the front cover has connotations of love. In this case the reference to love is reinforced by the focal image that denotes a man and woman as a couple. Ideally, this front cover would aim to attract an audience whose preferred genre of music is love. As the digipak goes on, we also come across references to what type of songs would be playing in the album, this becomes vital as we gain a more contextualised understand on what type of album it actually is.
In addition, the price would normally be in small print at the bottom of the page to alert the buyers how much the purchase of the product would cost them. This way, the buyer understand whether they could afford the product. However, if the price tag wasn't visible on the digipak it may cause confusion and uncertainty regarding whether they should buy the product or not.
in conclusion, the final identification to reinstate it's a digipak would probably be the visual reference of the reviews. The reviews would normally be there to show any thoughts on the new release and normally, the publisher puts reviews to show the credentials and prestige of the artists who are making the publishment.

Digipak Analysis 2

This is an example of the layout and design of a normal digipak. The main characteristics remain there to show that it's a digipak. For example, we have an example of a barcode, a barcode is merely there to identify the price of the product. Although it may not seem as significant as some of the other labels, nothing takes place until there is assurance that the product is valid. Amongst other things the most significant factor is personal identification within a digipak, this straight away alerts the audience as to the product they're buying. Furthermore, this would usually be found at the front the digipack. The barcode also shows the customers how much the product costs. Incase customers feel the price may be unfair or made up the barcode shows its valid and up to date. The colour of this digipak is also red. The red connotes the genre of the overall album, this point could be reinforced through the roses. Roses are normally plants that are given as gifts to show gratitude and happiness towards others and the fact that the front cover has roses on it represents the fact that the album is slow paced, innocent and beautiful. In addition, the natural growth of the plants could symbolise the continual growth of the artist who entails and captivates natural musical talent.

The font on the cover shows the audience who the artist is. It has the full name of the artist which insinuates recognition of the artist, as it allows fans to know the quality of the product that is being bought. The writing also states that the audience isn't particular for men as the feminine typography means that the music is appealing to females also.
At the back of the digipak's there are reviews from magazines and newspapers to show the apparent progression of the artist. The review is there to show what others think of the music, ideally we normally tend to find feedback to be positive as a way to promote the artists. Hearing what a well established newspaper think of the album could convince audiences to buy the product.0.

Week 15

During this week, we were coming towards the conclusion of our  digipak all which was done to promote our protagonist character. The main aim was to make sure that we had all the elements that compliment the codes and conventions of grime. We found that originality was really key as it meant that our product stood out, so we were able to denote how normal digipaks look and understanding this meant that we used the same platform but altered the visuals used. For example, we aimed to replicate our theme colour in order to maintain consistency in our approach towards the music video. We used the colours black and blue, the colour black represented the negative and dark part of the artists life which was exhibited through the detachment from others in his house with no food and no one around. It was crucial for the audience to understand where the character had come from, as that way they were able to relate to the lyrics of the song, but at the same time were able to see the progression he had made in his life, which in turn could influence viewers as it becomes more understandable that if you work really hard you could achieve what you want, independent of your social class all you have to do is work hard and this was portrayed with the colour blue. The lightness has connotations of the happiness in the characters lifestyle.

Additionally, our music video editing was going according to plan, as we were able to use the internal software of final cut pro to add the finishing touch to an already really effective music video. We were able to add a variation of shots to give it extra affect and after all was done, it was vital that as a group were able to do some thorough analysis, so that we understood what we had done well but at the same time what we also needed to include in order to make the music video even better than it was. I found that this was really useful as it gave us a neutral look at a music video, that way we were able to criticse freely and at the same time look at what we had done well.
The magazine cover was something we were able to do freely, as we understood what aspects we needed to include in order for it to be appealing to our target audience. For example, the use of the social networks that were implemented meant that the audience would be be drawn to it. In addition, we alos used the same theme colour in order to maintain our consistant approach as we had already done this for our digipak.
