Evaluation part one the brief

I have been hired by SC records to manage the promotion of one of their new acts, i have been contracted to create one music video package, and a 6 or 8 gate cover for the artists digipak as well an advertisement to promote the digipak. Additionally as part of the task i needed to find my own artist with his or her song. My chosen artist was a group named House Of Pahroes, i found them because one of my classmates was a member in the group and i gained encouragement from the fact that i was able to familiarise myself with them based on the lyrics. I felt this was significant as it influenced my decision making as i was more comfortable understanding the lyrics. It was also easy for me to gain permission as i was able to approach my classmate in person and ask for his permission and fortunately i found he was more than willing for me to use the track. The music genre was grime, i felt that this was   helpful to me in the sense that it could be based in my area. This way i saved time as i didn't have to travel as much. However, despite the fact i could relate to the lyrics grime music wasn't my type of music, so it meant that i needed to understand the context  little bit better. I was able to do this, as i had friends who had huge interest in grime and so their nuance combined with my partial understanding meant i could implement some of the codes and conventions.
